Award-winning artist Melissa Avalon is the creative force behind Dancing Canvas. From a young age, Melissa has been passionate about art, inspired by her creatively inclined family. Her mother studied fashion design, her father earned a master’s in multi-media art, her uncle is a successful glass artist, and her grandmother is an accomplished metalsmith jeweler.

Though she hasn’t formally studied any specific medium, Melissa has always been involved in artistic endeavors, from drawing and sculpting to experimenting with makeup in the early 2000s. She eventually discovered a love for face and body painting, particularly enjoying the collaborative process of bringing surreal imagery to life.

Along with face and body painting services that Melissa offers for various events, she is also an avid visual artist creating paintings and paper quilled artworks.
